I reported the bug/issue of sound components month ago, and now they still have not updated this app, I say the developers/Paragon are lazy and irresponsible. If you bought it, youll hate it, and youll regret the money you wasted. So steer clear of OALD/Paragon.

It s the best app I ve purchased for my lovely Mac.

Overall a very well designed application. I esspecially like the favorites feature for creating vocab lists. However, I would like to see an expansion of features for this segment of the application: multiple vocab lists, study tools (eg. flashcards), and esspecially the ability to sync the lists among multiple devices.

Exceptional, first-rate, exemplary, magnificent, sterling, superlative! I have acquired Oxford dicionaries for other platforms and they all left something to be desired. However this one is exactly what I was looking for. I particularly like the fact that you can start typing right off the bat, without having to go to the search field. Little, but very practical detail. The quality of the spoken sentences, which you can optionally download later, could use higher quality. In a nutshell, it is the whole OALD at your fingertips. Well worth the purchase.

the functionality on this app is great, but the dictionary itself is extremely limited. It’s insufficient for a college student nevermind a scholar, any kind of specialist, or anyone seeking a truly enriching gateway to the English language. Once upon a time the old school OED was the go to resource as a huge tome on a pedastal in the center of the library - nothing like that is included here. Don’t waste your money on this exorbitantly priced app!

This is a great Dictionary app for English learners. English is not my first language, I find it very usefull to improve my English. There is only two things I don’t like, The first one is it lack of full screen model. and The icon is ugly to me. The icon of the original dictionary app on mac is beautiful. Anyway I hope the next update will bring a new beautiful icon!

I asked 2 questions before my purchase to support staff on 7 Feb, 2015. One is about the Genie function and the other is about extra charge for downloading example sound files. After a long wait, without receiving any respond from the support team, I decided to buy and try it for myself. The support team of Oxford English Dictionary does not seem to work. There is no genie feature on this version and I could download all the sound file. I hope the next update will include the genie feature in this app.
